AI calling for hotels means an AI voice assistant answers the guest calls a front desk cannot always pick up, and makes the routine calls the desk never gets to: following up a booking enquiry, confirming tomorrow's arrival. With MySA Business, it answers from the Business Details you approve, in the guest's language, and every call comes back to your team as a recording, a summary and tags.

## Where hotel and travel calls come from in India

A homestay in Gangtok and a pilgrims' lodge in Ujjain hear very different calls, in different languages. Grouped by the kind of place:

| Kind of place | Examples | Languages callers often use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Pilgrimage towns** | Tirupati, Varanasi, Ujjain, Mathura, Haridwar and Rishikesh, Ajmer, Amritsar, Gaya, Deoghar | Hindi and Hinglish; Telugu, Tamil and Kannada at Tirupati; Punjabi at Amritsar; Bengali at Gaya and Deoghar |
| **Heritage cities** | Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Agra, Mysuru, Madurai | Hindi, English; Kannada at Mysuru; Tamil at Madurai |
| **Beach, backwater and island** | Panaji and Margao in Goa, Kochi, Alappuzha, Kannur, Puducherry, Port Blair, Kavaratti, Diu | English, Hindi, Marathi; Malayalam in Kerala; Tamil in Puducherry; Gujarati at Diu |
| **Hills and mountains** | Srinagar, Leh, Dehradun, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Shillong, Kohima | Hindi, English, Urdu in Kashmir; Bengali for many Darjeeling visitors |

In a pilgrimage town the caller is usually from another state, so the language should follow the guest, not the hotel. The call languages you can choose are Hinglish, Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu and Assamese. Konkani, Nepali and Khasi are not among them, so a Goa or hill property would use English or Hindi. Hear each on a test call before you decide.

## Use case 1: answering guest calls at any hour

The desk is busy at check-in and short-staffed at night, and the owner of a six-room homestay is also the cook. With [inbound call answering](/features/inbound-calls), the AI picks up on a business number you bought and answers from the Business Details you pick: tariffs you are willing to quote, check-in and checkout, distance to the temple, ghat or beach, parking, station pickup, cancellation rules. With **Stick to the chosen language** off, it follows whichever language the caller uses.

**Example** — a guest house in Varanasi (made up) gets a call late at night.

- **AI:** Namaste, ABC Guest House, Varanasi se bol rahi hoon. Bataiye, kaise madad karoon?
- **Guest:** Agle Saturday do din ke liye family room chahiye. Ghat kitni door hai? Aur station se pickup milega?
- **AI:** Ghat paidal das minute hai. Station pickup hum dete hain, ₹400 lagta hai. Room confirm karne ke liye hamari team aapko call karegi. Aapka naam bata dijiye?
- **Guest:** Sharma. Subah 10 baje ke baad kijiyega.

In the morning the desk sees the call in **Call Logs** with the recording, a summary ("family room, next Saturday, 2 nights, station pickup, call after 10 AM"), the sentiment and tags, and rings Mr Sharma back. The ₹400 was in the approved Business Details; the AI does not invent a tariff, a discount or a darshan slot. A guest who tells the AI itself to ring back later goes to [Follow-ups](/docs/follow-ups) at the time they named.

[DND hours](/docs/dnd) do not block inbound calls unless you choose that, so the phone is answered at night while outbound calls stay quiet. A guest who insists on a person can be handed to your manager with [call transfer](/docs/call-transfer): the AI rings the number you named, briefs them and connects the guest.

## Use case 2: following up booking enquiries within a minute

Enquiries from a website form or an ad often arrive at night, and by the next afternoon the guest has booked elsewhere. A [webhook campaign](/features/webhook-campaigns) calls each new lead, usually within a minute, and asks the dates, number of guests, budget and whether they need a cab or a sightseeing tour. For a tour operator in Jaipur or a houseboat in Alappuzha, that keeps the lead warm. Positive leads can go to your email, a Google Sheet or your own system through the [Lead Feed](/docs/lead-feed).

## Use case 3: the pre-arrival call the day before

Upload tomorrow's arrivals into a [campaign](/docs/campaigns) as an Excel file, with columns `var1` to `var15` for each guest's details: date, room type, pickup time. A purpose such as "Guest ko batao ki unka {var2} kal {var1} ke liye booked hai, aur poochho ki pickup {var3} par chahiye ya nahi" makes every call speak its own row.

| Guest says | AI does |
| --- | --- |
| "Haan, kal pahunch rahe hain" | Notes the confirmation in the summary |
| "Train late hai, raat 1 baje aayenge" | Notes the late arrival in the summary for the night desk |
| "Plan cancel ho gaya" | Tells them the cancellation rule from your Business Details and flags it |
| "Shaam ko call karna" | Puts a call-back in Follow-ups at that time |
| "Manager se baat karao" | Transfers the call, or marks it **Call from a person** if transfer is off |

The AI does not change the booking in your system; your team does, from the summary.

## Use case 4: season broadcasts and Instagram DMs

Past guests are the cheapest bookings. [WhatsApp Broadcasts](/docs/whatsapp-broadcasts) send one approved template to a list of past guests from your own WhatsApp Business number, such as "Navratri ke liye rooms khul gaye hain" from a lodge in Ujjain. Opt-outs are respected. Broadcasts must be enabled for your workspace, and a number starts with a limit of 1,000 different people in any 24 hours.

Resorts in Goa, Udaipur or Kerala often hear from guests on Instagram first. Connected to [Instagram](/features/instagram), the AI replies to DMs from your Business Details, and when a guest asks about price, availability or booking it asks for their name and mobile number, saved as a lead. With **Call when the customer agrees** on, an AI call follows once they say yes. On WhatsApp, the [missed call auto-reply](/blog/whatsapp-missed-call-auto-reply) texts back guests who have messaged you before.

## Saathi on the hotel website

[Saathi](/features/saathi) puts an AI video agent, MySA, on your website: a visitor taps the call bubble and talks to it face to face. It answers from your approved Business Details and can open the right room page, search the site, scroll to the photos and point at a tariff. It speaks Hinglish, Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada or Malayalam, and switches if the visitor does. Every call appears under **Saathi → Video calls** with a summary, interest and mood. It needs one line of code on every page; see the [Saathi docs](/docs/saathi).

## What works today, and what it does not do

| Works today | Does not do |
| --- | --- |
| Answers guest calls at any hour from your approved Business Details | Check live room availability on its own — only through your API, if Custom APIs are enabled |
| Follows up website and ad enquiries within about a minute | Take an advance payment or confirm a booking in your system |
| Pre-arrival calls with each guest's own date, room and pickup | Book darshan, aarti or monument tickets |
| Call-backs at the time the guest asked; transfer to your manager | Speak Konkani, Nepali or Khasi |
| WhatsApp broadcasts, Instagram DM replies, Saathi on your website | Send SMS or email |

If your booking system has an API, register it under **Integrations → My APIs** and attach it to your inbound number, so "Saturday ko room khaali hai?" is answered from what your system says. **My APIs** appears once Custom APIs are enabled for your workspace; see [Custom APIs](/docs/custom-apis) and [AI calls with real-time data](/blog/ai-calls-with-real-time-data). Without it, the AI takes the request and your team confirms.

These are scenarios, not customer stories.

## Getting started

1. [Create a workspace](/signup) and verify your mobile number to get ₹100 of Test credit in the separate **Test** environment.
2. Write and approve your Business Details: tariffs you will quote, check-in and checkout, distances, pickup, cancellation.
3. Press **Try now**: the AI rings your own phone. Try the languages your guests speak.
4. Go **Live**, top up the prepaid wallet, buy a number and switch inbound on.

Calls of 10 seconds or less are free; longer calls are billed per started minute. The rate for your workspace is shown in the console. [Talk to sales](/contact) for volume pricing.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can the AI tell a guest whether a room is free tonight?

Only if your booking system has an API and Custom APIs are enabled for your workspace. Otherwise it notes the dates and your team confirms availability on the call-back.

### Will the AI answer calls at 2 in the morning?

Yes, on a number with inbound switched on, as long as the wallet has balance. DND does not block inbound calls unless you set it to.

### Can it speak Telugu to a pilgrim calling a lodge in Tirupati?

Telugu can be chosen as the call language, and the AI can follow the caller's language if you leave Stick to the chosen language off. Make a test call first and judge it yourself.

### Can a guest pay the advance during the call?

No. The AI can tell the guest your payment and advance rules from the Business Details. Collecting the money is done by your team or your booking system.

### Will guests get AI calls late at night?

No. Outbound calls are held during your DND hours, and Scheduled campaigns only call between 9 AM and 9 PM.
