A payment reminder call to customers works best a few days before the money is needed, not after it is late. In November 2026 that timing matters more than usual: festival bank holidays, weekend closures and year-end buying all fall in the same weeks, and a cheque deposited on the wrong day waits. With MySA Business, an AI voice assistant can ring every customer on your list of dues, tell them the amount and invoice from your file, ask when they will pay, and put the promised date in a summary for your accounts team. The AI asks; your team decides what to do about the answers.

## Why November needs earlier reminders

Banks in India close on every Sunday and on the second and fourth Saturdays, which in November 2026 are the 14th and the 28th. On top of that come festival holidays declared state by state: Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj, Chhath, Guru Nanak Jayanti and regional festivals. Published lists for November 2026 do not agree on every date, so check the [RBI's holiday list](https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/HolidayMatrixDisplay.aspx) for your state and your customers' states before you set due dates.

UPI, NEFT and RTGS work on holidays. What waits is anything that needs a branch: cheque clearing, cash deposits, and approvals from a customer's own accounts team, many of whom are on leave. A reminder that reaches a customer before the holiday gives them time to pay by a route that is open.

## Who to call, and when

| Customer | When to call | What the call asks |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Invoice due before a bank holiday | 3–5 days before the due date | Will it be paid by the due date, and how |
| Pays by cheque | Before the last working day ahead of a holiday | Whether the cheque can be deposited before the holiday |
| Overdue 30 days or more | Now, once | A date they can commit to |
| Disputes the amount | Not by the AI | Hand to your accounts team |

Keep the list to people who actually owe you. A reminder to a customer who already paid costs you goodwill and a call.

## Set up the reminder campaign

A **CSV Upload** campaign calls a list once. That fits a list of dues, because the list changes as people pay.

1. **Export the dues** from your billing or accounting software into Excel or CSV, with each customer's mobile number. Columns `var1` to `var15` carry each customer's details: `var1` the name, `var2` the invoice number, `var3` the amount, `var4` the due date.
2. **Write the purpose plainly and politely.** For example: "Remind {var1} ji that invoice {var2} for ₹{var3} is due on {var4}. Mention that banks are closed on 14 November. Ask when they can pay and note the date. If they say the amount is wrong, do not argue; tell them our accounts team will call."
3. **Send a test call** from the **Queue** to your own phone.
4. **Publish & Run.** Calls go out from the start time you set and never inside your [DND hours](/docs/dnd).

For the next reminder, export a fresh file of who still owes. MySA does not read your bank account or your ledger, so it cannot know who has paid. A **Scheduled** campaign that calls the same file again would ring people who already settled. See [Campaigns](/docs/campaigns).

## A reminder call, as the customer hears it

> **Example**
>
> **AI:** Namaste Verma ji, main XYZ Traders se bol raha hoon. Invoice 1042, ₹48,500 ka payment 13 November ko due hai. 14 November ko bank band rahenge, isliye yaad dila raha tha.
>
> **Customer:** Haan, is hafte kar dunga.
>
> **AI:** Kya 12 November tak ho payega?
>
> **Customer:** Haan, 12 tak ho jayega.

XYZ Traders is made up. After the call, **Call Logs** has the recording, an AI summary ("will pay by 12 Nov") and sentiment, and the campaign report can be downloaded when it is done. Your accounts team checks the payment against the date; the AI does not.

## When the customer disputes or wants a person

Payment calls go wrong when a machine argues about money. Keep these cases with people:

- **"Amount galat hai" or "goods return kiye the".** Write in the purpose that the AI should not argue. With [Call transfer](/docs/call-transfer) set up in your Live workspace, it can ring a named number such as "Accounts" and connect the customer; transfer minutes are billed separately.
- **"Kal call karna".** The time is picked up into **Follow-ups**, and **Auto-callback** can ring then. See [how to handle "call me later"](/blog/how-to-handle-call-me-later).
- **A question your details do not answer**, such as bank details for payment. It becomes **Action required**; you type the answer once and the AI calls back with it. If you want the AI to give your bank or UPI details, write them in your [Business Details](/docs/business-details).

If you lend money, RBI's rules on recovery calls apply to you, including calling hours; set your DND hours to match them. This article is about trade dues between a business and its customers.

## What works today, and what it does not do

| Works today | Does not do |
| --- | --- |
| One call to each customer with their invoice, amount and due date | Read your bank account or know who has paid |
| The promised date captured in the call summary | Collect the payment or send a payment link |
| Disputes handed to a named colleague during the call | Negotiate the amount or a discount you did not write down |
| Call-backs at the time the customer asked | Send SMS or email |
| Recordings, summaries and a downloadable report | Call inside your DND hours |

These are scenarios, not customer stories.

## Getting started

1. [Create a workspace](/signup) and verify your mobile number to get ₹100 of Test credit in the separate **Test** environment.
2. Build and approve Business Details with how customers can pay you.
3. Press **Try now**: the AI rings your own phone. Answer as a customer who says the amount is wrong.
4. Run a test campaign with three of your own numbers and `var1` to `var4` filled in.
5. Go **Live**, top up the prepaid wallet, and upload this week's dues.

Calls of 10 seconds or less are free; longer calls are billed per started minute. The rate for your workspace is shown in the console. [Talk to sales](/contact) for volume pricing. For tax due dates, see [GST filing reminder calls for CA firms](/blog/gst-filing-reminder-calls-for-ca-firms).

## Frequently asked questions

### When should I make payment reminder calls?

Three to five days before the due date, and earlier when a bank holiday falls just before it, so the customer can pay by a route that is open.

### Which days are banks closed in November 2026?

All Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays (14 and 28 November) and state festival holidays, which differ by state. Check the RBI's holiday list for each state.

### Can one call carry each customer's invoice and amount?

Yes. Columns var1 to var15 in the file let the AI say each customer's name, invoice number, amount and due date.

### Will the AI know whether a customer has paid?

No. MySA does not read your bank or accounts. Upload a fresh list of outstanding dues for each round of reminders.

### What happens if a customer says the amount is wrong?

Tell the AI in the purpose not to argue. It can transfer the customer to your accounts team with Call transfer, or mark the call for a person to ring back.
