WhatsApp automation for jewellery shops means your shop's number answers the questions customers ask every day, starting with "aaj ka gold rate kya hai?", with today's figure read live from your own system rather than a rate someone typed in last week. With MySA Business, the same AI explains making charges and schemes from details you approved, invites serious buyers to visit, and with their agreement places a call to fix the visit. Your staff still see every chat and can step in at any time.

## Why "today's gold rate" fills your WhatsApp

"Today's gold rate" is one of India's most searched daily questions. Families check it before a wedding purchase, before Akshaya Tritiya or Dhanteras, before exchanging old gold, or simply out of habit. Many of them do not stop at a search: they message the jeweller they trust and ask for that shop's rate, because that is the rate they will actually pay.

For the shop, this creates a pattern most owners will recognise:

- The same question, many times a day, often before opening hours.
- A rate that changes, so a saved reply goes stale.
- Real buyers hidden among casual checkers, and no time to tell them apart.

And the next message is usually about making charges, a design, a savings scheme or exchanging old gold.

## Gold rate on WhatsApp, read from your own system

The rate is the one answer the AI must never guess. MySA does not publish market rates, and it does not invent one. Instead it reads yours.

If your shop already has a rate API, for example from your billing or ERP software, the workspace Owner adds it under **Integrations → My APIs** (Custom APIs are enabled per workspace). You fetch a sample, tick the fields you need, such as the purity and the rate, and write a one-line message template so the AI receives clean lines like "22K Gold: ₹…/gram". Then, in WhatsApp settings, you tick that API under **Live data in replies** for your number.

From then on, when a customer asks for the rate, the AI answers with what your system returns right now. A few practical points:

- **Caching.** A rate is the same for every customer, so you can cache it. Set **Cache (seconds)** to suit how often your rate changes; `0` means always fresh.
- **Failures.** If your API does not answer and caching is on, MySA falls back to the last good answer it saved. An API that fails is simply left out; it never stops a call.
- **Phone calls too.** The same API can be fetched just before each outbound AI call and handed to the AI as facts, so a caller hears today's rate as well. The setup is in [Custom APIs](/docs/custom-apis), and the overview on [Custom APIs](/features/custom-apis).

## Making charges, schemes and policies from Business Details

Everything that changes slowly belongs in your Business Details, written in plain language:

- How making charges are worked out for different kinds of jewellery.
- Your gold savings scheme: monthly amount, duration, what the customer gets at the end.
- Old gold exchange and buy-back rules.
- Hallmarking, certificates for diamonds, and your return or exchange policy.
- Timings, branches, parking, and the weekly off day.

For something true only today, such as "Shop closes at 6 pm today", use **Today's update**. Customers can write in Hindi, English, Hinglish or another language, and the AI replies in the one they used.

> **Example**
>
> **Customer:** Namaste, aaj 22 carat ka rate kya hai? Aur bangles pe making charge kitna lagta hai?
>
> **AI:** Namaste! Aaj ka 22K rate hamare system ke hisaab se [rate from your API] per gram hai. Bangles par making charge design ke hisaab se lagta hai, jaisa hamari rate list mein likha hai. Kya aap showroom aakar designs dekhna chahenge?
>
> **Customer:** Haan, Saturday ko aa sakte hain.
>
> **AI:** Bahut accha. Kya hamari team aapko call karke time fix kar sakti hai?

The bracket stands for whatever your API returns; the AI does not supply a figure of its own.

## Turning serious buyers into visits

Jewellery is still bought in the showroom, so the job is to get the right people there.

- **Intent-based calling.** In the console this is **Call when the customer agrees**. When a chat shows buying intent, such as a price, a visit, availability or a quote, the AI asks once whether your team may call. On a yes, an AI call goes out in the customer's language with a summary of the chat, so the call starts from "you asked about bangles for Saturday". On a no, it keeps helping in the chat and does not ask again.
- **Visit reminders.** When a customer mentions on a call that they will visit, a reminder call on that day confirms it. See [Visit reminders](/docs/visit-reminders).
- **Keyword Auto-Call.** If you prefer, a message containing a keyword such as *visit* or *booking* can be answered with an AI call, with a minimum gap and a daily cap per customer.

At most one chat-started call a day goes to the same number across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, and calls are not placed inside your [DND hours](/docs/dnd). Every call leaves a recording, an AI summary, sentiment and tags.

## Festive offers by broadcast

Telling past customers about a Dhanteras or wedding-season offer is a broadcast, not a chat reply. With **Broadcasts** enabled, the workspace Owner sends one approved WhatsApp template to a list (from a campaign or a CSV file), now or scheduled, through a connected Meta WhatsApp or Automate Chats account.

A template slot can even be filled from your own API, so the message can carry today's rate. Numbers on the **Opted out** list are left out of every broadcast. Details are in [WhatsApp broadcasts](/docs/whatsapp-broadcasts).

## What works today, and what it does not do

| Works today | Does not do |
| --- | --- |
| Today's rate read live from your own API | Publish market rates or invent a rate |
| Charges, schemes and policies from your Business Details | Quote a discount you did not write down |
| Intent-based calling and visit reminder calls | Call a customer who said no in the chat |
| Approved-template broadcasts with opt-outs | Send SMS or email |
| A shared inbox for your staff | Listen to voice notes (a fallback message goes instead) |

Add family and staff numbers to the **Exceptions** list so they get no automatic replies or calls.

## Getting started

3. Connect your shop's WhatsApp number with a pairing code or QR scan, and switch on [Smart reply](/features/whatsapp-smart-reply).

5. Use **Try now** to hear an AI call on your own phone, then go Live with a prepaid wallet. For volume pricing, [contact sales](/contact).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can the AI tell customers today's gold rate on WhatsApp?

Yes, if your shop has its own rate API. The Owner adds it under My APIs and ticks it for the WhatsApp number, and the AI answers with the rate your system returns.

### What if my shop has no rate API?

The AI still answers questions about charges, schemes, timings and policies from your Business Details. It does not make up a rate, so it can ask the customer to confirm the rate at the shop.

### Will the AI quote making charges or discounts?

Only what you wrote in your Business Details. It does not invent discounts or offers.

### Can customers be called to book a showroom visit?

Yes. With intent-based calling on, the AI asks a serious buyer once whether your team may call, and places an AI call only after they agree.

### Can I send a Dhanteras offer to past customers?

Yes, with Broadcasts enabled: one approved WhatsApp template to a list, now or scheduled. Opted-out numbers are always left out.

### Do jeweller AI calls work in Hindi?

Hindi can be chosen as the call language, and calls default to Hinglish. Place a free test call to your own phone to hear it before using it with customers.
