AI calling in Hindi means an AI voice agent that speaks with your customers in Hindi, or in the Hindi-English mix most urban Indians actually use on the phone, Hinglish. In MySA Business, Hinglish is the default call language and Hindi can be chosen for any campaign, test call or inbound number. You set the language, test it on your own phone, and the AI holds the conversation in that language from greeting to goodbye.
This guide explains how the language choice works, when to pick Hindi versus Hinglish, how mixed-language callers are handled, and how to approach other Indian languages.
Why language decides whether a call works
A customer who has to strain to follow the caller does not stay on the line. In much of North and Central India, and in a lot of everyday business across the country, people switch between Hindi and English within a single sentence: "Price kya hai for the 2BHK?" A call that sounds like a formal announcement in pure English, or textbook Hindi with no English words, can feel distant to that customer.
That is why the default in MySA Business is Hinglish. It covers the broadest range of callers who speak Hindi day to day, while still using familiar English words like booking, order, delivery and payment.
Hindi or Hinglish: choosing the call language
| Choose | When it usually suits | Example opening |
|---|---|---|
| Hinglish | Urban customers, mixed lists, young buyers, most sales and service calls | "Namaste Rahul ji, aapne kal flat ke baare mein enquiry ki thi…" |
| Hindi | Customers who prefer Hindi throughout, smaller towns, older customers | "Namaste, aapne kal flat ke baare mein jaankari maangi thi…" |
| English | Customers who wrote to you in English, or business buyers who prefer it | "Hello Rahul, you enquired about the flat yesterday…" |
These are starting points, not rules. Your own customers decide; a test call and the first batch of summaries will tell you more than any table.
Where you set the language
The call language is chosen in three places, each with its own Language dropdown:
- Campaigns. One language for the whole campaign. In a CSV or Excel file, a
languagecolumn can override it per contact, so one list can mix Hindi and Hinglish calls. See campaigns. - Test calls. Pick the language when you ring your own phone, so you hear exactly what the customer will hear. See test calls.
- Inbound numbers. The language the AI answers in when customers call you. See inbound calls.
Follow-up calls (when a customer says "baad mein call kijiye") go out in the language of the original call, so a Hindi conversation continues in Hindi.
When the customer switches language
Callers do not always stay in the language you chose. Two settings decide what happens:
- On inbound numbers: you choose whether the AI should stick to the chosen language or follow the caller. Leave it off and the AI follows whichever language the caller uses.
- On campaigns: tick Enforce speech language to hold the AI to the campaign language even if the customer switches.
Hold the language when you need consistency (for example, a Hindi-only list where you have checked every line of the purpose). Let it follow when your callers are mixed and you would rather match them.
Example
AI (Hinglish): Namaste Sunita ji, main aapke paas ke coaching centre se bol rahi hoon. Aapne Class 10 ke weekend batch ke baare mein poocha tha. Kya abhi do minute baat ho sakti hai? Customer: Haan boliye, fees kitni hai? AI: Weekend batch ki monthly fees ₹2,500 hai. (Illustrative figure: the AI quotes only the fee written in the centre's approved Business Details.) Customer: Theek hai, Saturday ko demo class ho sakti hai? AI: Ji, main Saturday ka demo note kar leti hoon. Hamari team aapko confirm kar degi.
Writing purposes and details for Hindi calls
A few practical tips that make Hindi and Hinglish calls go better:
- Write the purpose in the language you want spoken. A purpose like "Customer ko order {var1} ki delivery date batayein aur poochein koi sawaal hai kya" sets the tone better than an English instruction.
- Keep prices and names exactly as customers say them. "₹1,499" and "2BHK" are clearer than spelled-out forms.
- Use Excel for Hindi names. If customer names are in Devanagari, upload an .xlsx file rather than a .csv; Excel can save a .csv in an encoding that garbles them.
- Check the first batch. Each call leaves a recording, an AI summary, sentiment and tags. Listen to a few recordings and adjust the wording.
Hindi on WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook
Language is not only a phone question. On WhatsApp, the AI smart reply answers in the language the customer writes, Hinglish included. And with intent-based calling on WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, when a chat shows buying intent and the customer shares a number, the AI asks once whether your team may call; on a yes, the AI call goes out in the customer's language with the chat summary as context. See WhatsApp smart reply.
Regional language AI calls beyond Hindi
Hinglish is the default and Hindi is one dropdown choice away. Other Indian languages can be chosen as the call language too; the list includes Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu and Assamese, alongside English. How well any language suits your customers is something to hear for yourself: place a free test call in that language, about your own business, before you plan a campaign around it.
