AI calling for a food processing business means an AI voice assistant makes the routine trade calls for you: asking retailers for tomorrow's order, telling distributors about a new pack or a Diwali scheme, reminding them of a pending payment and answering bulk enquiries at any hour. MySA Business places those calls from your own number, in the language your retailers speak, and gives your team a summary of each call.
Where this industry sits in India, and the language of its calls
Food businesses sit in small towns as much as big cities, and the retailer on the line usually prefers the local language. Some clusters, and the call language that fits them:
- Gujarat and Diu. Anand is the best-known name in Indian dairy; Junagadh and the fishing coast around Diu add agri and seafood trade. Calls in Gujarati or Hinglish.
- Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Moga and Mathura for milk, Karnal for basmati rice, Bareilly for food distribution. Punjabi, Hindi or Hinglish.
- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Bikaner for bhujia and namkeen, Dewas and Ujjain for food processing and distribution, Muzaffarpur for litchi. Hindi.
- Maharashtra. Ahmednagar for dairy, Jalgaon for bananas, Satara for agri produce. Marathi or Hindi.
- Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Nizamabad for rice; Nellore and Kakinada for shrimp farming and seafood processing. Telugu.
- Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Kollam for cashew processing, Alappuzha for fisheries, Palakkad for rice, Tirunelveli and Davangere for food trade. Malayalam, Tamil or Kannada.
- West Bengal and the Andamans. Bardhaman for rice; Port Blair for fisheries. Bengali, Hindi or English.
Each of these can be chosen as the call language. Hear it on a test call first and keep the one your buyers are comfortable with.
Use case 1: weekly order calls to retailers on route day
A dairy or namkeen distributor serves each area on a fixed day, and the day before someone has to ring every shop on that route. It is the most repetitive call in the business.
Put the route in a Scheduled campaign with Every few days set to 7, so the list is called once a week. Add Excel columns for what changes per shop: var1 for the route day, var2 for the last order. The purpose then reads: "Retailer ko batao ki {var1} ko route hai, unka pichla order {var2} tha, aur poochho is baar kya chahiye." Untick Skip people already reached, because every shop needs the call every week.
Example — ABC Dairy, a made-up distributor, calls a kirana store.
AI: Namaste Sharma ji, ABC Dairy se bol rahi hoon. Kal Tuesday ko aapke area ka route hai. Pichli baar aapne paneer 15 pack aur dahi 24 cup liye the. Is baar kya bhejein?
Retailer: Paneer 20 pack kar do, dahi 30 cup. Ghee abhi nahi, agle hafte.
AI: Ji, paneer 20 pack, dahi 30 cup. Ghee agle hafte poochh lenge. Dhanyavaad.
In Call Logs your team sees the AI summary ("paneer 20, dahi 30, ghee next week"), the sentiment, the tags and the recording. Entering the order in your billing software is still your team's job, but it takes minutes instead of forty calls. If a retailer says "shaam ko call karo", the call-back goes to Follow-ups at that time.
Use case 2: new pack launches and Diwali scheme calls
A new 200 g pouch, a Diwali gift box of dry fruits or sweets, a retailer scheme: each has to reach every distributor and shop before the season. A CSV campaign calls the whole list from your approved Business Details, so the AI states only the scheme you wrote.
Ask one question, such as "kitne box chahiye honge, approximate?", and the answer lands in each summary. A retailer ready for a large order can be handed over with call transfer: the AI rings the number named Sales, briefs them and connects the two. WhatsApp Broadcasts can send one approved template to the same list. More ideas in Diwali marketing with WhatsApp and AI calls.
Use case 3: payment reminders to distributors and retailers
Chasing credit takes hours. Upload the outstanding list with the amount in var1 and the due date in var2; the AI reminds each party in their language and notes who promised a date and who disputes the amount.
A retailer who says "hisaab galat hai, kisi se baat karao" is marked Call from a person in Follow-ups, for your accounts person to ring. The AI does not collect money or change your ledger.
Use case 4: milk-route and delivery-day changes
A tanker breakdown, a holiday or a road shut by rain: when the delivery day moves, every shop on the route needs to know. Upload that route's list with the new day in var1 and run it at once. Calls are held inside your DND hours, so set the window to suit early-morning dairy trade. A Scheduled run only calls between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM IST.
Use case 5: bulk, catering and export enquiries at any hour
Caterers, hotels and sweet shops ring for bulk orders at all hours. With inbound call answering on your number, the AI answers from your Business Details: pack sizes, minimum order and delivery areas. A rate that changes daily can come from your own API under Integrations → My APIs, once Custom APIs are enabled for your workspace (see AI calls with real-time data).
Export and bulk buyers for cashew, spices and seafood often write first on WhatsApp. WhatsApp smart reply answers each chat from your Business Details in the buyer's language, and your team can take over in Conversations at any time.
What retailers say, and what the AI does
| Retailer or buyer says | What the AI does |
|---|---|
| "Paneer 20 pack, dahi 30 cup" | Repeats the order back; it appears in the summary |
| "Shaam ko call karna" | Adds a follow-up at that time, in the same language |
| "Diwali box ka rate kya hai?" | Answers only from your approved Business Details |
| "Hisaab galat hai" | Notes it; the row goes to Call from a person |
| "Bulk order dena hai, kisi se baat karao" | Transfers to Sales, if call transfer is set up |
| Asks something not in your details | Promises to check; the row is marked Action required |
Saathi on your website
Many cashew, spice and namkeen sellers now take orders on their own website. Saathi puts a video agent, MySA, there: a visitor taps the call bubble and talks to it face to face. It answers from your approved Business Details, and can open a product page, search your site and point at a price or pack size, in Hinglish, Hindi, English or seven Indian languages including Gujarati, Telugu and Malayalam. Each call comes back under Saathi → Video calls with a summary and the full conversation. See the Saathi docs.
What works today, and what it does not do
| Works today | Does not do |
|---|---|
| Calls a retailer list with each shop's route day and last order | Enter orders in your billing or ERP software |
| Weekly repeat calls to the same route list | Know your stock unless your list or your API says so |
| Scheme and launch calls from your approved details | Make claims about product quality or shelf life you did not write |
| Payment reminders with each party's amount and date | Collect payments or send payment links on the call |
| Answers bulk enquiries by phone and WhatsApp at any hour | Send SMS or email blasts |
| Holds calls during your DND hours | Keep turn-by-turn transcripts (recording and summary only) |
These are scenarios, not customer stories.
